The Bondi massacre is a wake up call for all Australians

Across the country we watched in horror as our fellow citizens were murdered simply because they were Jewish.

The murderous hatred and bullying of the tiny Jewish community in Australia is a symptom of a much deeper problem in our Australian culture.

It is a sign that the foundations and core values of our western civilization are under threat.

"Tell me what you think of Israel and of the Jewish people, and I'll tell you what you think about Western civilization"

The Jewish people are the most enduring and consistently persecuted minority in human history.

Australia, up until October 7th, 2023, has been a country where this has not been the case. It is only in the last 2 years that we have seen a surge of racist hate directed against Jewish citizens of Australia.

For the first time in our history Jewish people have been attacked, murdered, and marginalised against because of their Jewishness.

What has changed?

We have imported into Australia a 'clash of civilizations'.

This clash is most visible in the Middle East, but it is happening on our streets, in our social media feeds, and in our suburbs.

It is clash of values and of culture.

We all have to choose.

Do we want to live in a liberal democracy, built on the values of equality, fairness, respect, and inclusion, or in a culture built on religious divisions, sectarian hatreds, and racist conflict?

What is under threat is the very Judeao-Christian foundation of our country and the values and culture built on this foundation over the past 1,000 years.

The antisemitism that has been unleashed in Australia is not a Jewish problem (although the Jewish community is bearing the brunt of it).

It is a problem for all of us who do not want Australia divided and weakened by religious and ethnic hatred.

And it is a problem that will only get worse unless we, everyday citizens, stand together to solve it and build a country that is united, safe, free, and prosperous for all.

What is the Solution?

A citizen movement committed to the enduring ideas, values, traditions, and institutions that have made Australia a safe, free, and prosperous country for all.

This means three things:

Get educated - understand where we have come from so we can know what kind of country we want to become

Get connected - join our community of like-minded Australians committed to this vision of Australia

Get going - let's hold ourselves, our politicians, our civil society, our institutions accountable to our core Australian values
